I like being able to change game difficulty because I just plain don't have the patience anymore for getting frustrated by walls in videogames. I myself am severely nearsighted - so its usually font size that I prefer to be able to manipulate. This doesn't even touch on how useful difficulty adjustment could be for people with any kind of unique need. The kind of stuff that like those no-hit twitch things and impressive AGDQ displays come out of. Is there a setting for 1? I don't actually know.) Ludicrous difficulties that only come after you've really learned a game in-and-out. Or, sometimes after you beat the game, sometimes right off the bat, Very Hard, Dante Must Die, Legendary, Nightmare, Damn I'm Good, Expert (Guitar Hero), doing Contra with just 3 lives. Unless, of course, it was a game designed and marketed that way (I dunno if this is the best example, but like, Touhou seems impenetrable to me ala bullet hells, lol.) And it doesnt really matter what kind of 'intended' difficulty curve the game has, because if the developers designed it with these people specifically in mind, chances are it would be pretty frustrating for people who weren't quite so good at that genre. Sometimes you have folks that are really good at that particular genre.
